Landlord Gas Safety & Electrical Safety Certificates

By law, if you are a landlord you have to have the gas safety of your rented property checked by a competent gas engineer on an annual basis. As from 1 July 2020, landlords need their property's electrical installation safety checked once every five years.

We are probably the only firm in St Albans and Hertfordshire which offers both gas and electrical inspection.

What We Check (Gas)

• The effectiveness of any flue
• The supply of combustion air
• Operating pressure or heat input or flue gas readings
• Safe functioning of all gas appliances
• Gas safety of the carcass (meter and pipes)

Banned Locations for Gas Appliances

• Open-flued appliances (gas fires) in bathrooms or shower rooms
• Flueless appliances (cookers) in bathrooms or shower rooms
